The Volkswagen T2 Camper model replaced the previous one in 1967.. Much of the design remains from the previous version. The changes affected the cabin, it became more spacious and ergonomic, a one-piece panoramic windshield was installed, the braking system improved over time, the engine became more powerful and an automatic transmission appeared.

Versions of the Volkswagen Camper T2 were constantly being improved, and the model was in demand both in commercial transportation and in personal use. It was appreciated for its simplicity and reliability of design. This is due to the fact that the model lasted on the assembly line in Brazil until 2013.
