Volkswagen T1 can rightfully be considered the founder of all modern minivans and minibuses. Created in 1949 by Ben Ponu, it was already on the assembly line in Hanover, Germany, in 1950 and gained great popularity.

The car was developed on the basis of the WV "Beetle" and received from it an air-cooled opposed engine with a capacity of 25 hp and a four-speed transmission.

The cabin is divided into three zones:

  • driver's license;
  • passenger;
  • the engine compartment located at the rear.

A good-natured "face" with a very large logo, large round headlights and turn signals causes affection among passers-by, drivers and passengers of other cars.

The hippie-mobile still has elements of comfort: the wiper is equipped with an electric drive, the interior is equipped with a light shade, and a small ashtray is mounted in the dashboard.

For ventilation, the windshields are thrown back, all the vents and even the hatch are opened, and the ventilation system directs the airflow over the heads of the driver and the passenger sitting next to him.

A rare Camper minibus is perfect for going on a picnic or a pleasure trip with friends. It can become an exclusive background for a thematic photo shoot.
