The Mercury Marcus car is the flagship model of a full–size sedan with rear-wheel drive, which was typical for the Mercury model range at that time. The power of the 6.6-liter V8 engine was 180 horsepower and this was necessary to make the car, weighing about 2 tons, move. The large weight and impressive size were a tribute to the gigantomania that prevailed in the American auto industry before the energy crisis. The exterior of the car was distinguished by a massive hood with a vyshtampovka, a radiator grille consisting of vertical slats, a monumental bumper, twin round headlights. Strictly metered chrome accents formed an elegant and stylish exterior of the white sedan. Leather and dense textiles, wooden framing of the instrument panel are used in the interior of the cabin for upholstery of comfortable wide sofas.
