A car that was constructed in the post-war period. He was considered a real breakthrough in the domestic automotive industry and a symbol of that time. The model turned out to be so successful that it allowed in record time to match the quality and quantity of production with a number of foreign competitors.
The unique appearance of the Victory is the result of the work of designers Sorochkin and Samoilov. Their bold design solutions, which have not yet been used in the USSR, made the car especially modern. A non-standard shape with flat sides was selected for the body, excluding the protruding wings at the front and rear. Then a similar structure was found only in some American manufacturers. The roof belonged to the "fastback" type: it smoothly passed into the bumper without sharp corners, thereby improving the aerodynamic properties of the car.
The unusual radiator grille, consisting of massive slats, was also one of the business cards of the GAZ-M-20.
