Introduced in 1936, the Model 326 became an iconic model of great importance and the first BMW with a box-section ladder, while the rear torsion spring was another novelty for the Bavarian manufacturer. Boring the block by 1 mm increased the volume of the well-proven six with an upper valve arrangement to 1971 cubic meters. Cm and increased the maximum power to 50 hp in a single-carburetor form installed on the model 326. Other notable developments included hydraulic brakes and a four-speed gearbox with a freewheel clutch in 1st and 2nd gears, allowing you to shift gears without a clutch, which is especially useful in urban traffic. The model 326 was a huge success, it was produced until 1941, and by that time about 16 thousand pieces had already been produced.
